Every Winter, These 3 Brothers Create Stunning Snow Sculptures In Their Front Yard

Published 10 years ago

Austin, Trevor, and Connor, three brothers based in New Brighton, Minnesota, have a wonderful tradition that keeps them busy after Christmas. For the past 4 winters, they’ve createda new giant sculpture of a sea animal on their family’s front lawn every year. This year, they built a 12-foot-tall and 31-foot-wide sea turtle named Snappy in their front yard, inviting passersby to pose with the giant sculpture.

This year, it took the Bartz brothers around 300 hours in total to sculpt the turtle, starting off just after Christmas and finishing on January 7th. After scooping snow from 11 neighbors’ yards and a nearby tennis court, the brothers piled it all in one place and then started sculpting the form of a turtle, crfting its intricate textures using only their hands.

Fortunately, it seems that the cold in Minnesota is going to stay for a while, so the family is encouraging everyone to pay them a visit before the snow melts.
