30 "Outstanding Move" Memes That Will Make You Laugh Out Loud

Nowadays, you can never guess when people will decide to turn something into a meme - sometimes even a simple screenshot from a Spanish news segment about a game of chess can become one. Back in 2017, Spanish news outlet El País released a segment hosted by Leontxo García titled La jugada mágica de Bogolyúbov (The magical play of Bogoljubov). It recalled a 1940 chess game between grandmasters Ludwig Rellstab and Efim Bogoljubov and Leontxo used a chessboard to explain some of the moves used by the two. The game had its fair share of impressive moves but a certain move by Bogoljubov at the 8:24 mark really impressed the host and he called it maravillosa (outstanding) - and that was all it took for people to turn it into a meme.
