Adorable Comics About An Old Military Dog And A Little Kitten That Will Warm Your Heart

Ben Hed is a Minnesota-based artist, who creates various illustrations and comics about animals. We recently featured some of his hilarious illustrations about humans flirting like animals, now he's back with a series of adorable comics featuring an old military dog named Brutus and a kitten named Pixie.

In an interview with Bored Panda, Ben described Pixie as a "tiny, joyful, energetic kitten", who's "innocent, and also somewhat oblivious to the serious, dangerous stuff around her." And while Pixie is this small, cute creature, her 'big brother', Brutus, is quite the opposite: "He was adopted by Pixie's owner after retiring as a Military Working Dog (MWD). Brutus, in many ways, is the exact opposite of Pixie. He's... Seen things. He's very serious and intimidating but he has a soft spot for Pixie, and does what he can to protect her from the harsh realities of the world around them," says the artist. Ben says these comics were just another random idea he had while at work: "I was never planning on making them a series, I just thought it would be a funny idea to introduce a cute little kitten to a big intimidating war dog.
