The Reykjavik Police Have A Surprisingly Delightful Instagram

The official Instagram account of Reykjavik’s police force is probably the most amusing one that we’ve seen for a long time. And would you expect that from the police?

Our parents sometimes set police officers up as frightening villains that might come and take us away from home in case we misbehaved. Apparently, even Icelandic parenting traditions supported this misconception for a long time (at least Icelandic tourist guides say so), and were just recently asked to stop - by the police officers themselves. Maybe this is what led to the police officers of one of the safest countries in the world to start sharing their smiles and funny moments from their everyday activities with their followers.

Looking at the official Instagram account of Reykjavik’s police office, you can understand why they deserve our respect and trust in their kindness and humanity.
