New Suspended Tree Tents Are Better Than Home
Of the many indignities suffered while camping in the forest, finding suitable ground for the tent is one of the most common ones. Tentsile removes the ground part from the equation. All of the products on the line are secured to trees, hanging a meter above the leaves and mushrooms and rabbit droppings. The Trillium hammock is the basic model, being a triangle hammock for three people. The Vista builds on the Trillium foundation to bring you a multi-story tent (not suitable for extreme weather, though). The Trilogy is the largest model, combining three tents with a central canopy.
Alex Shirley-Smith was first inspired to make the tents in 1983, when he was but a wee lad of 6 years after he saw a BBC documentary about deforestation, and Return of the Jedi. 19 years later, he was already working on making his dream a reality. It was a great success, and the Tentsile is now shipped worldwide.
