Love 'em or hate 'em, the Oscars are still the most important movie event of the year. And, second year in a row, famed photographer Mark Seliger was there to do celebrity portrait shoots at Vanity Fair’s Oscar after party. Best Actor Eddie Redmayne and best supporting actor J.K. Simmons were there, as well as many other important entertainment folks: Jennifer Aniston and Justin Theroux, Lady Gaga, Ansel Elgort, Oprah Winfrey, Natalie Portman, Kate Upton, Steve Martin, Mindy Kaling, Conan O'Brien, and more!
Last year, the photoshoot was a lot more impromptu in nature. But now, Seliger, Vanity Fair and Instagram had time to set up a stage for the starts to pose on. The worn wooden surroundings give some unexpected starkness to the pictures, as well as some lovely contrast.
I wonder if they’ll continue next year, maybe try out a more art deco stage.
