Two Beautiful Albino Sisters Born 12 Years Apart Into The Same Family Are Stunning The Whole World

Published 4 years ago

According to the National Organization for Albinism and Hypopigmentation, it is estimated that one in every 18,000 to 20,000 people are born with albinism. And even despite the fact that these numbers may vary wildly depending on location, it is still quite an unlikely chance for two people to be born with albinism in the same family.

Well, against all odds, this has happened with Asel and Kamila Kalaganova, who were born into the same family 12 years apart. Both with albinism. And the photographs have taken the world by storm for how beautiful they really are.

Asel (14) and Kamila (2) are a part of a Kazakh family of five, having another brother Aldiyar (8) in between them, who does not have albinism. Despite their condition, the two young ladies share many physical characteristics of Kazakh people.

Asel explained that people tend to be surprised when they hear that she and her sister are albinos as many of them simply do not know what albinism is. The mother, Aiman Sarkitov, and even the physicians were as surprised as everyone else when she gave birth—the likelihood of albinism to “run” in the family is virtually unprecedented. So much that some people were coming up with conspiracies of other fathers being involved.

Being a beautiful young lady, she decided to go into modeling, and with having another albino sibling, she has been gaining popularity at an even faster pace. She currently has over 43,000 followers on Instagram.

Asel’s mother explained that when she gave birth to her, the genetics were not as developed as they are now. It was such a surprized that even the doctors were in slight shock, leading them to think that Asel’s actually of Russian descent. It was only later that the mother read upon the condition and understood that her daughters are actually albino.

Aiman, the mother, continued that she was so lost for words that she even had no idea what to do about anything anymore. This prompted a search for answers, which lead to her finding out about some ancestors who also had albinism.

People with albinism are more vulnerable to the effects of the sun than the average person. Hence, they are strongly recommended to avoid direct sunlight so as to not damage their skin and eyes. Asel explained that whenever she goes outside in the afternoon, sunscreen is a must, along with extra clothes. Only in the evening does it become easier as the sun goes down.

Asel used to attend a special school for the handicapped but was soon transferred to a regular one. Albinism does not entail brain damage, it’s only the physical appearance that is altered. Her mother explained that it was hard at first, but not because she had problems studying—she’s a grade A student—but it was because children would often stare at her, but she got used to it after a while and now feels great.

As for the brother, he is said by their mother to look like a true dark-skinned Kazakh. Despite him looking drastically different, he never really had any questions about his older sister looking different. That is, until the second sister was born. Then he started getting suspicious as to why he is the only one different now. However, Aiman did a great job answering all of his questions, leaving no doubt that he is a part of the same family, as are his sisters. He is proud of his sisters, so much so that he sometimes boasts how extraordinary they are.
