French Artist Turns Boring Building Facades Into Drawings Full Of Life
Patrick Commecy found paper canvases too limiting for his drawings, so he chose something a bit bigger… and when we say ‘bigger’, we’re talking 6 storeys bigger.
The French artist has been filling boring grey walls of apartment buildings with hyper-realistic scenes of bustling and vibrant communities, often spiced up with a bit of the surreal.
The cool bit is that some of the characters who inhabit these 2D apartments are actually based on real people, who played a significant role in communities where the murals are placed. An awesome idea of how to liven up sleepy suburbia while also building on its very own history.
