Artist Turns Bananas Into Creative Works Of Art
Fruits are regularly featured as subjects of beginner painters, but they’re not often used as canvas. “Not anymore!” shouts Netherlands-based artist Stephan Brusche as he holds a viking-ship-shaped banana up to the sky. And behind it, there’s an all banana nativity scene, with a banana baby Jesus proudly displaying “V for Victory” (over Satan, Death and baby-killing satraps, I guess).
Stephen’s work makes me jealous – all he needs is a knife,
a pen a needle and a banana to make something that looks a lot cooler than anything I could do by ruining a good canvas and wasting some paint.
Thnx a lot guys! I actually just use a ballpoint pen though, no needles involved. ;)
This reminds me of Scrimshaw that sailors used to carve.
So brilliantly creative and funny. Thank you.
