“These capes are actually IKEA rugs,” Game Of Thrones head costume designer Michele Clapton revealed at a talk at the Getty Museum in LA. "We take anything we can; we cut and we shave them and then we added strong leather straps. I want the audience to almost smell the costumes." If you want to make an exact copy, you're in luck because IKEA have published easy-to-follow instructions how to do just that, and it's a lot easier than assembling a bed.
