Florida Man Living On A Private Island Shares What His Life Is Like
If the only things that come to your mind when you hear the phrase “island life” are Robinson Crusoe and Tom Hanks in the movie Cast Away, then Tim Davidson is about to change your mind. Back in 2017, the man’s family gave him 60 days to move out of their vacation home in Florida, and instead of purchasing a traditional home, Tim ended up buying a mobile home for around $70k. But that’s not all – he also ended up buying a whole private island in Florida for around $200k, and has lived there ever since. Initially, the man thought about buying a traditional home but figured that it would result in a lot of unused space. That’s why he decided to focus simply on the necessities. In a recent interview with Bored Panda, Tim said that he learned about minimalism after watching a Netflix documentary. “I’ve always kind of been attracted to minimalism without knowing that I was attracted to minimalism,” said the man. “I typically had fewer things than the average American but enough where I could still slim down my lifestyle and really become a true minimalist.”

Instead of an ordinary home, the man decided to purchase a mobile one

The man ended up purchasing a Tiffany mobile home for around $70k as he felt it was the perfect fit for him.” The layout of the home was exactly what I wanted, it functions very well, and has everything I need,” said Tim.
Even though the home might seem small on the outside, it’s quite spacious inside

The inside of the home contains everything you could need for comfortable living, such as a folding table, a sofa, cabinets, and a bed.

After purchasing the mobile home, Tim went on search for a place to permanently place it

And ended up purchasing his own private island for $200k!

Tim says he found the island for sale on Zillow. At the time, it wasn’t used for anything and didn’t even have an address. “I ended up knocking on the owner’s door that was selling it and started negotiating pricing from there,” said the man. “I then had 60 days to figure out if I could build a tiny house on there with the city’s permission. And I was able to successfully build a tiny house on a foundation.”

Tim realized that Tiffany might not survive a hurricane and started looking for something a little more sturdy

That’s when he purchased a 320-square-foot octagon-shaped house for $90,000
