Soul-Sucking Photos By French Artist Show How Phones Are Stealing Our Identities

Published 8 years ago

There are certain problems with using technology too often, but Antoine Geiger thinks phones are almost literally soul-sucking. His Sur-Fake project shows people with faces that are being sucked in by mobile phones like they were tiny plastic Dementors or Necromongers.

Antoine Geiger is a young French artist who already has 4 exhibitions to his name. “It is placing the screen as an object of “mass subculture”, alienating the relation to our own body, and more generally to the physical world,” he writes on the project website. Another interesting project about phones in our lives edited them out of the picture, you can read about it here.
