This Mexican Artist’s Sculptures Show The Hard Work Required To Achieve The ‘Perfect Body’

Published 3 years ago

Victor Hugo Yañez Piña is a Mexican sculptor known for his hyperrealistic life-size bronze sculptures, busts, and wax figures. The artist says he can create a sculpture of any character and has created numerous ones of religious and historic figures, politicians, and actors in the past.

Just recently, Victor shared photos of some of his latest works – two sculptures titled Self-Made Man and Self-Made Woman. They depict a man and woman chiseling away their overweight bodies to reveal the ‘perfect bodies’ we’re so used to seeing plastered all over social media. And while the sculptor himself doesn’t directly say so, his latest works might have been inspired by a similar digital sculpture created by Brazilian graphic designer Gabriel D’Orazio back in 2015.

One day, this guy just kind of figured - "I spend most of my time on the internet anyway, why not turn it into a profession?" - and he did! Now he not only gets to browse the latest cat videos and fresh memes every day but also shares them with people all over the world, making sure they stay up to date with everything that's trending on the web. Some things that always pique his interest are old technologies, literature and all sorts of odd vintage goodness. So if you find something that's too bizarre not to share, make sure to hit him up!

Got wisdom to pour?
