Vincent Flouret is a French fashion photographer whose pictures featuring his dog Max recreating Madonna's iconic photos recently went viral. The photographer doesn't just shoot his dog - as he was volunteering in City Shelters in L.A, he shot studio portraits of dogs in order to help them get adopted faster. However, it's Max that is the celebrity in this series, as the 6-year-old dog just seems naturally good at being a model.
The project is called "Maxdonna" and features Vincent's dog, Max, recreating Maddona's iconic photos and album covers. The photographer told Bored Panda he's a big fan of Madonna so the photo series should come as no surprise. And looking at the pictures, you'll instantly see why Max was the perfect choice for a model. Vincent says that Max is his priority: "Everything is like a game for him so yes, for example, if he needs a hat for a picture, I buy it weeks before and we play with it like if it’s one of his pet toys. And so, it’s 'normal' and fun for him when we shoot for real weeks later."
Vincent says the whole project - shooting the pictures, making the costumes and training Max - took him 8 months. And it's not hard to see why - you'll see Max wearing everything from the leotard from the "Hung Up" video to a custom jacket from the "Desperately Looking For Susan" movie poster. "These pictures I’m doing with Max are tributes to artists that I love and respect. It’s a break between my commercial work, that is bringing me to the simple pleasure of pure creation, love, and happiness," said the photographer. Even Madonna herself has noticed the project and posted the "Like a Virgin" cover on her Instagram. "I was like a kid when I discovered it!" said Vincent.
The money collected from the project will be donated to Madonna’s charity Raising Malawi, that aims to improve the lives of children in Malawi. Check out the pictures in the gallery below!
