30 Comics This Artist Created As A Way To Relax After Work

Published 5 years ago

Marcel Wichmann is a 29-year-old artist from Berlin, Germany who started creating comics as a way to relax after work. His comics deal with various everyday situations and they’re both hilarious and relatable.

The author says that for a big part of his life he wanted to become an illustrator but that changed after he started studying it. “I quickly discovered that there’s a big difference between doing something for fun and doing the same thing with the goal of it being a job,” says Marcel. These studies even made him quit drawing for a few years. However, the artist recently started drawing again and now does it just for fun. “I don’t want it to be my job. It’s not even supposed to make money in any form. I just want people to see my stuff and blow air out of their nose. A chuckle would be great but no pressure,” says the Marcel.

“Not having any serious goals and just looking at this as a relaxing hobby gives me the freedom to not really have a concept for what I’m doing,” says the artist. “There’s just one thing I try to achieve: Post something new every day. That can be a silly pun, an actually decent joke, or a commentary on the latest episode of some TV series everyone is angry about.” Check out his comics in the gallery below!
