Students Noticed No Asian People In McDonald’s Posters, So They Added Their Own Faces And It’s Still There 51 Days Later
A couple of friends – Jevh Maravilla and Christian Toledo – noticed there’s something missing in their local McDonalds – the representation of Asian people in their posters. So what did they do? They put up a poster of their own!
While eating at a local McDonald’s one day, Jevh and Christian noticed that none of the many posters on the walls featured any Asian people. So they came up with a brilliant idea – they would make a poster of their own! The guys found an empty space on one of the walls and decided it would be the perfect place for their poster. Then came the planning phase – they decided to pose as students, took a picture in front of the neighborhood event center and edited the photo to look like a real McDonald’s poster.
Then came the hard part – they needed to hang the poster without the employees suspecting anything. They found a McDonald’s shirt at a thrift store for $7 and printed out a fake nametag – Jevh became the regional interior coordinator for a day. With the help of some friends, they brought the poster to the restaurant, waited for the employees to clear out and quickly hung it up. The friends the rushed out of the restaurant before someone noticed something wasn’t right.
And they succeeded! Jevh’s poster has been hanging on the restaurant’s walls for over 50 days now and no one seems to suspect a thing. Check out the poster and the planning phase in the gallery below!
