Lady Gaga’s Lead Keyboardist Develops Circular 294-Key Keyboard For Exceptional Performances

Published 10 years ago

This is not a scene from a sci-fi movie about futuristic musicians, this is happening now. Lady Gaga’s lead keyboardist Brockett Parsons and his team of “mad scientists” created their spectacular circular Piano Arc keyboard (aka the “Brockettship”) by joining three 88-note keyboards into one.

The keyboard now has 294 keys and one 30-note control section, and 3 pitch bends/mods per full keyboard section. The instrument’s height, tilt, and key dip are adjustable. The ingenious keyboard’s outer diameter is approximately 6’ and the whole instrument is “really heavy.”

When asked how the musician came up with this idea, he replied: “There’s really no reason to do this. This wasn’t made to make money, obviously. We just felt that we wanna do something cool,” adding, “Why should the guitarists have all the fun?”
