This Artist’s Instagram Is Full Of Incredibly Satisfying Food Arrangements (30 New Pics)

Published 5 years ago

You know how our parents always tell us not to play with food? Well, this self-proclaimed object arranger clearly did not listen. Multimedia artist Adam Hill turns everyday food items into intricate works of art that will mesmerize you with their amount of detail.

In an interview with Bored Panda, the artist says he grew up fascinated with art history and it seemed natural for him to create his own art. But instead of traditional art, he wanted to use materials that reflected the time he lives in – that’s why he chose to use everyday objects.

“Unlike more permanent mediums, food is transitory, and can only be preserved through methods such as photography. Because I use Instagram as my way of exposing my work to a larger audience, I use food because it is something that is unique to photography because it can only be experienced through reproduction, unlike painting or sculpture which are better experienced in person and can be bought and sold as an object,” explained the artist why he uses food in his works. “Likewise, unlike mediums designated as high art, food can be more readily understood and enjoyed by everyone, making it a more democratic option.”

“As we live in a time dominated by widespread food-based advertising, I think food art is becoming especially relevant,” explains Adam. “Rather than seeing grocery stores as merely a means of sustenance, it redefines these seemingly utilitarian stores as areas of artistic possibility, making viewers more perceptive to the aesthetic possibilities of everyday things that they would normally take for granted.”

Aušrys Uptas

One day, this guy just kind of figured - "I spend most of my time on the internet anyway, why not turn it into a profession?" - and he did! Now he not only gets to browse the latest cat videos and fresh memes every day but also shares them with people all over the world, making sure they stay up to date with everything that's trending on the web. Some things that always pique his interest are old technologies, literature and all sorts of odd vintage goodness. So if you find something that's too bizarre not to share, make sure to hit him up!

Got wisdom to pour?
