Incredible Yogi’s Body Poses Inspire People Suffering From Severe Mental Illnesses

Heidi Williams’ road to finding peace after surviving rape wasn’t an easy one. Suffering from PTSD, anxiety, and major depression, she even attempted suicide when she almost lost her 6-month-old child. It was only when she found yoga, that Heidi managed to make sense of it all.

It was in this place of mental illness hell that I found yoga and grace. Yoga brought me to a safe place again. A place of peace and self-acceptance,” – Williams told Mantra Yoga + Health. Now Heidi uses that knowledge to inspire and help out others who are suffering from similar problems by running online support groups.

She organizes therapeutic yoga classes and retreats that aim to remedy depression, anxiety, and PTSD. Heidi also has a very positive presence on social media with her Instagram account being constantly updated with incredible yoga poses and inspiring quotes that go along with them.
