Published 10 months ago

Father João Paulo is a Brazilian priest fast becoming renowned for his compassionate nature towards abandoned animals. His journey began in Gravatá, Pernambuco, Brazil, after he was inspired by a local NGO to encourage animal adoption in his church community. He has since been involved in many adoption-related activities and even partnered with universities for animal castration programs.

His unique style of taking the pooches in need of homes to his church masses and even holding an adoption drive in front of the church has seen over 100 dogs rehomed. Father Paulo says, “Adopted animals don’t require work, they only provide love” and shared his thoughts on the animals which he considers a gift, “They are sent by God into our lives, to make us more human and better.”

Shanilou Perera

Shanilou has always loved reading and learning about the world we live in. While she enjoys fictional books and stories just as much, since childhood she was especially fascinated by encyclopaedias and strangely enough, self-help books. As a kid, she spent most of her time consuming as much knowledge as she could get her hands on and could always be found at the library. Now, she still enjoys finding out about all the amazing things that surround us in our day-to-day lives and is blessed to be able to write about them to share with the whole world as a profession.

Got wisdom to pour?
