If You Slow Down Dolly Parton’s “Jolene” To 33 RPM You Get This Awesome New Song

Published 8 years ago

Looking for some fresh music to update your playlist with? Well maybe, you don’t have to look far as this slowed down version of “Jolene”, a classic country-style song by Dolly Parton, proves.

Somebody has tinkered with the song and slowed it down to 33 RPM (revolutions per minute) which turned it into a whole different piece and actually, it sounds pretty cool.

The original song became Parton’s second solo number-one single on the country charts. It’s a story about a woman who confronts Jolene, a beautiful goddess, who she believes is trying to steal her lover. It was released in 1973 and Rolling Stone magazine ranked it number 217 in the “500 Greatest Songs of All Time” list. Dolly claims that “Jolene” is the most-recorded song by other artists of all the songs she has written, and it seems like there’s still a lot of potential to it.
