These miniature masterpieces are meticulously handcrafted using layers of paper, with each feather carefully cut, shaped, and assembled to create vibrant, three-dimensional birds. The result was a collection that celebrates not just the beauty of parrots but also the patience and skill it takes to create such delicate art.

In 2018, the duo began an ambitious creative journey called the “1000 Feathers Project.” For 1000 consecutive days, from January 1, 2018, to September 2020, they created one miniature paper artwork of a bird or animal each day. The aim was to raise awareness about wildlife and inspire people to appreciate the beauty and diversity of the natural world.

Since then, they’ve continued creating series inspired by nature, each with its own story and message. As they put it: “Nature is our biggest inspiration, and the need for awareness about our nature keeps us going. We create our pieces in miniature form because the scale makes the viewer more interested in the piece, and the curiosity leads them to read about the species, which eventually makes them aware of the particular species.”

Every artwork begins with deep research through books, documentaries, and sometimes even field visits. They often collaborate with wildlife photographers for image references. Once the research is complete, they sketch the piece, hand-cut it in layers of paper, and meticulously hand-paint each tiny element with watercolors to match the perfect shade of feathers, fur, or skin. Finally, the pieces are carefully assembled to bring the artwork to life.
