8 Charming Small Animals In Porcelain Bowls Designed By Hella Jongerius

Published 10 hours ago

For over 30 years, Hella Jongerius has focused her artistic journey on amalgamating traditional craft techniques with contemporary processes to craft her innovative concepts. The Dutch designer meticulously hand paints 3D animals such as a fox, dog, frog and more with traditional floral patterns. The glazed bowls are a testament to nature and tradition and were commissioned by Nymphenburg, a historic Bavarian porcelain maker.

Currently residing in Berlin, Jongerius explained the motivation behind her artistic experience, “I became a designer because I wanted to instigate change from within and push boundaries established in industrial design… I want to change something in the world using industrial design as a resource”.

Shanilou Perera

Shanilou has always loved reading and learning about the world we live in. While she enjoys fictional books and stories just as much, since childhood she was especially fascinated by encyclopaedias and strangely enough, self-help books. As a kid, she spent most of her time consuming as much knowledge as she could get her hands on and could always be found at the library. Now, she still enjoys finding out about all the amazing things that surround us in our day-to-day lives and is blessed to be able to write about them to share with the whole world as a profession.

Got wisdom to pour?
